Prague, also known as “the City of a Hundred Spires” and “Praha”, is the busiest and most lively city in the Czech Republic and is divided by the famous Vltava River. One of the must-see places you need to visit is its Old Town Square, which is located at the center of the historic core. I stayed a five-minute walk outside of the Old Town, and I am glad I made that decision. Old Town has many gothic-style buildings, medieval churches, fantastic restaurants, and the centerpiece of the area, its world-famous Astronomical Clock. This clock was built in 1402 and still gives the correct time!
Old Town Square is a great place to spend an afternoon. You can sip coffee, do some people watching and even go on a free walking tour. Many companies schedule walking tours every hour, starting at the square. If you have three hours to spare, I highly recommend going. It will give you a different perspective of the city by getting knowledgable insights from a local.
Nightlife
As for the nightlife in Praha, I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised. This was my first time out in central Europe, and I was expecting euro, trance, EDM and techno. However, my friends and I stumbled upon two of the best bars I have ever been to in my life! The music was incredible, the DJs were outstanding, the drinks were cheap, and the ambiance was extraordinary. The few nights out I had in Prague were some of the best times I had in Europe. If the places below are still open, I highly recommend all you hiphoptravellers out there to hit them up. You’ll have a night you won’t soon forget.
