Lisbon or Lisboa is one of my favorite cities in Europe. I spent one week in Portugal’s capital, and it was seven days I will never forget. Portugal is a very colorful, vibrant, and laidback place that definitely puts your calves and feet to work. No skipping leg day in this city as it is aptly called the “City of Seven Hills.” Uber is really affordable here, but to get a better feel for the town, I walked almost everywhere.

Hills, hills, and more hills. Everywhere you turn, you will come across a cobblestone hill. This is definitely a distinguishing feature of the city, which makes it very different from any other place I visited in Europe. Doing the free walking tour is absolutely not for the faint of heart, but it was a great experience none the less if you are up for it. During my week in the city, some of my favorite sights were Belém Tower,  Jerónimos Monastery, Praça do Comércio, and Padrão dos Descobrimentos. I missed out on some of the other famous sights, but I felt that the places I visited were sufficient enough to get a good feel of the culture of the city.

One of the other things I enjoyed about this city is the graffiti! It is everywhere. The beautiful array of colors, along with the vivid imagery of the typography, makes it one of the best places for street art lovers on earth. Some of the spots I saw the best graffiti during my time there were Calçada da Glória, Avenida Conselheiro Fernando de Sousa, and Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo. If you have a free day in Lisboa, make sure you take your time to take in the talent of these fantastic graffiti artists.

Best Hip-hop Venues in Lisbon

Lisbon is known all over Europe for its nightlife. Something is always going on in this coastal capital, which is excellent news for yall night owls. There are various lounges, bars, nightclubs throughout the city playing all genres of music. The Bairro Alto district was the area where I stayed while I was in Lisbon, and it the most popular place for nightlife in the city. There are hundreds of excellent bars and restaurants in the neighborhood, which makes it a well-liked area for visitors to stay. To be completely honest, there are not too many venues that play hip-hop in the city, but it is still a good night out if you want to get lit on the dancefloor. Below I have put my top three places for hiphoptravelites to hear hip-hop in the city.
