Before Covid-19 brought the world to a screeching halt, I was lucky enough to take one of the longest trips I ever made to Central America. During my eight weeks there, I was able to visit Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Guatemala. I can honestly say I had one of the best times of my life. However, before I embarked on this journey of a lifetime, the most common questions I got were, “Why are you going there?” or “I’d never go there, it’s dangerous.”

As I have mentioned in previous posts, nowhere in the world is perfect. You can be in the wrong place at the wrong time and have something horrible happen, anywhere. When traveling, you should always be on your Ps and Qs, no matter the locale. During my travels in Central America, I ran into people from all over the globe, exploring the region that were unafraid and eager to discover the somewhat forgotten destination for most travelers. Meeting other like-minded souls and having a chance to share our stories about different destinations on our respective journeys was one of the best parts of my trip. The locals in each country I visited were also very hospitable and extremely patient with my broken Spanish.

To conclude, after governments lift travel restrictions, I would strongly encourage you to visit Central America for a few weeks. It will most likely be the first place I will visit when I can move freely again, and I cannot wait to finish experiencing the area. Below I have put some of the pictures I took during my two-month excursion. I will write individual articles in the future of each of the places I visited, but for now, just enjoy the beauty of one of my favorite places on earth.
